Bushwacker Painted Fender Flares
Our factory-matched painted fender flares arrive ready to bolt on with a precision finish that complements your vehicle’s original paint code. Every set is sprayed using automotive-grade urethane in a controlled booth environment, then clear-coated for UV resistance and chip protection.
We engineer these flares for a direct-fit installation on popular truck and SUV platforms. The expanded coverage adds aggressive stance while protecting rocker panels and door sills from gravel, mud, and trail debris kicked up by oversized tires.
- Factory color-matched automotive urethane finish
- UV-resistant clear coat with chip guard
- Direct-fit design for OEM mounting points
- Extends coverage 2-4 inches depending on model
- Pre-drilled hardware locations for simple install
Paint process & color matching

We spray every painted fender flare set to order using your vehicle’s factory paint code. Our booth technicians apply two coats of automotive urethane, followed by a high-solids clear coat that bonds to the thermoplastic substrate.
The color-match process references OEM paint formulas from Ford, GM, Ram, Toyota, Jeep, and Nissan databases. We calibrate spray viscosity and flash times for thermoplastic surfaces, which absorb paint differently than sheet metal. Once cured, the finish resists stone chips and trail brush better than aftermarket rattle-can treatments.
Installation & hardware

Bushwacker painted fender flares mount using factory fender liner holes and body mounting points. Most installations require no drilling on the body itself. We include stainless steel bolts, speed clips, and trim-edge seals in every kit.
The thermoplastic material flexes slightly during installation, so alignment is forgiving. Start all fasteners finger-tight, then torque to 35 inch-pounds in a cross-pattern to avoid warping the flare lip. On models with OEM fender liners, trim the liner edge 1/4 inch back from the flare mounting surface for clean clearance.
Coverage & tire clearance

Painted fender flares from Bushwacker add 2 to 4 inches of lateral coverage depending on your vehicle platform and selected style. The extended lip shields door sills and rocker panels from stones thrown by aggressive tread patterns.
On full-size trucks running 33-inch to 35-inch tires with mild lift kits, our Pocket Style and Extend-A-Fender profiles provide the clearance needed to avoid rubbing at full lock. Mid-size truck and SUV applications typically accommodate 32-inch tires without suspension modification. For reference, the same thermoplastic compound used in our fender flare catalog ensures consistent flex characteristics across painted and textured finishes.

Painted fender flare installation & finish questions
We use your vehicle’s OEM paint code, which is found on the driver’s door jamb sticker or firewall tag. When you order, provide the exact code (such as WA130X for Ford Agate Black or GCN for Ram Granite Crystal). Our spray booth technicians reference manufacturer formulas to mix automotive urethane that matches the factory hue, metallic flake size, and pearl depth.
We then apply two base coats and a high-solids clear coat calibrated for thermoplastic substrates. The cured finish integrates with your truck’s existing panels under direct sunlight and showroom lighting.
Our painted fender flares are sprayed with UV-stabilized clear coat designed to resist oxidation in high-altitude and desert climates. The Dura-Flex 2000 TPO substrate flexes without cracking when the suspension articulates or when the flare takes an impact from trail debris.
We’ve tested samples through 2,000 hours of accelerated UV exposure equivalent to five years of direct Arizona sun. Gloss retention remains above 85 percent when washed monthly with pH-neutral soap. The finish resists fading better than single-stage rattle-can paint and holds up comparably to OEM body panels.
Most truck owners install Bushwacker painted fender flares in their driveway with a socket set and trim panel tools. The flares mount to existing factory holes in the fender liner and body, so drilling is rarely required. You’ll spend about 90 minutes per axle on a first install.
We include vehicle-specific instructions with torque specs and fender liner trim templates. Start all fasteners finger-tight to align the flare, then torque to 35 inch-pounds in a cross-pattern. If your truck has integrated fender marker lights, our flares provide pass-through grommets for the OEM wiring harness.
Painted fender flares arrive with a factory-matched color coat and UV-resistant clear coat, ready to install without additional finishing. They integrate visually with your truck’s body panels for a refined OEM look.
Textured flares ship with a matte black or gray finish that doesn’t require paint matching. Some buyers prefer the textured look for off-road builds, while others choose painted flares for street trucks and daily drivers. Both finishes use the same Dura-Flex 2000 TPO substrate, so durability and flex characteristics are identical.
Bushwacker painted fender flares extend 2 to 4 inches beyond the factory fender edge, depending on your vehicle platform and selected style. Pocket Style and Extend-A-Fender profiles provide the most coverage, accommodating 33-inch to 35-inch tires on lifted trucks without rubbing at full steering lock.
Flat Style and OE-match profiles add 2 to 2.5 inches of coverage, suitable for mid-size trucks and SUVs running 32-inch tires. The added width shields door sills and rocker panels from gravel and mud thrown by aggressive tread patterns.
Our limited lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects including finish delamination, UV fade, and structural cracks under normal use. The warranty does not cover damage from collisions, improper installation torque, or exposure to harsh chemical degreasers.
Minor stone chips are considered normal wear in off-road environments and can be touched up using OEM touch-up paint pens from your vehicle’s dealership. For warranty claims on finish issues, photograph the affected area and email our team with your original order number. We assess claims within 48 hours and ship approved replacements within 10 business days.
Yes. If you want a custom color, order our paintable textured flares instead and have a body shop spray them to your preferred hue. Our factory painted fender flares are sprayed to match your vehicle’s OEM paint code for color continuity with existing body panels.
Custom two-tone builds—such as black flares on a red truck—are popular for off-road rigs. In those cases, our matte black textured finish provides a cost-effective alternative to custom paint, and the finish holds up equally well to UV exposure and trail abuse.
